The main housing contains the Recloser’ s mechanical elements and supports the interrupters ( encapsulated in a proven solid cycloaliphatic epoxy resin with high creepage distances) . This epoxy resin is equally suited to high UV applications, or high altitudes and highly polluted environments and has been proven over decades of experience in the utility industry. Metering current transformers and voltage sensors are incorporated in the same resin housing of the interrupters offering voltage and current measurement of the fundamental frequency signals and harmonic values. This allows precise standard overcurrent protection and also frequency and harmonic sensitive tripping for special needs. The Recloser’ s self-supported TCR Type control box is accessed using a key, with dual locks located under padlockable covers, ensuring its security. The vented control box is designed to provide a weather-tight enclosure to protect the electronics. All processing information can easily be recovered through a RS232 serial port.
